Justice & Mercy will help find an attorney to advocate for an effective sentence that restores their life and reduces recidivism. Too often, offenders become part of the system when they and our society could be better served with an alternative to long prison terms. We help offenders take responsibility for their actions while paying their debt in a constructive manner. Contact us if you or a family member need representation, or if you would like to sponsor someone’s case.
Alternative Sentencing is a program dedicated to decreasing the effects of crime in our communities by seeking effective, non-traditional solutions to hold the offender accountable, impart new and productive skills, and minister to and restore both crime victims and offenders.
Individualized sentencing that holds the offender accountable and makes sense.
Acceptance of Responsibility The first step to restoration is sincere contrition and accepting responsibility for one’s own actions and the resulting consequences.
Mentoring Mentors provide support and help demonstrate that a changed life is possible. They help guide offenders before release and continue to guide and mentor them through reentry into society. Mentors hold mentees accountable to their commitments and encourage them in making healthy and productive life choices.
Employment Assistance Sustainable employment is one of the leading indicators of whether an offender will reoffend. The program aides in locating suitable employment for the offender to provide a viable alternative to jail.
Assess & Recommend Under an attorney’s direction, the program provides an investigation into a person’s relevant background and contributing factors to the committing of an offense, and then uses the results to make the proper sentence recommendation to the court (i.e. alternatives to jail).
