CHURCHES
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” – Matthew 25: 34 - 36
As we celebrate this Easter season and reflect on the faith-based values that bind us together, Justice & Mercy invites the church to consider playing a vital role in supporting inmate restoration, re-entry, and prison reform as a meaningful way to connect and put into action the message of the gospel.
With your uplifting prayer paired with the Matthew 25:36 Project Justice & Mercy can sustain the mission of helping inmates realize there is a spiritual plan for their life, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” – Psalm 139:14, while also having a lasting impact on the communities of Pennsylvania.
The generosity and shared commitment to inmate stories that connect us have been instrumental in sustaining the mission to amplify incarcerated voices, share perspectives, and ultimately shape the future of prison reform. It is through the unwavering support of the local church, faithful individuals and business that Justice & Mercy can continue to bring attention to the challenges that matter most to incarcerated people, their families and our communities.
When the local church partners with Justice & Mercy our action brings us one step closer to creating a more accountable, informed and revived community that best serves the citizens of Pennsylvania and other communities as well.
We invite you to prayerfully consider joining Justice & Mercy’s annual events (Easter Celebration – Chocolate Cross Day and Christmas – Whoopie Pie Day) and inmate visits to the Lancaster County Prison*, and informative forum-style luncheons at Eden Resort with noteworthy guest speakers. Partner with Justice & Mercy to shine the light of Christ with those often forgotten, castaway from society, but welcomed to His holy family through confession, repentance and salvation.
