Through the Pennsylvania Prison Society (PPS), official visitors are able to visit any county or state prison within Pennsylvania 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. without prior notice to the prison. We receive many letters from inmates in need of a prison visit and we are not able to meet the demand alone. We need your help – we need official visitors who are willing to visit many inmates across the state to record their concerns, look into their allegations, and to meet with them personally. Learn more about our reentry programs for ex offenders and how you can help. Becoming an official visitor starts with filling out an application, paying a $40 annual membership fee to PPS, and getting approved. If you have any questions about this process or want to know more please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-733-5130 or visit the PPS website at: www.prisonsociety.org
Justice & Mercy attends Lancaster County Prison Board Meetings on a monthly basis. If you have concerns about your local criminal justice system, we encourage you to get involved by showing up to these meetings and speaking with your public officials. The more people who show concern for the status of the prison and the prison condition, the more it is held accountable to the community of taxpayers who financially support it.
